Curated by Martin Bethenod and Florian Ebner, the group exhibition 'Dancing with Myself' stems from a collaboration between the Pinault Collection in Venice and the Folkwang Museum in Essen. Featuring 145 pieces from 1970 onwards, the exhibition explores how artists have included themselves in their work. Varying in medium and the results of diverse artistic practices, the artworks are divided according to the exhibition's four themes: 'melancholia', 'identity games', 'political autobiographies' and 'raw material'.

Hirst's 1991 photographic print, 'With Dead Head', and 2016 bronze sculpture, 'Bust of the Collector', feature in the exhibition. Spanning two and a half decades, these works offer rare examples of Hirst's riffs on self-portraiture.
