Three Hirst works feature in The Broad Foundation's inaugural exhibition of highlights from the collection.

The Broad Art Foundation's inaugural installation features a predominantly chronological selection of masterworks from the Broad collections. The installation begins with works by major artists who came to prominence in the 1950s and follows through to the present day. 

Three significant works by Hirst are included in the presentation - 'Away from the Flock' (1994), a sculpture from the 'Natural History' series containing a single sheep suspended in formaldehyde;  'Chlorpropamide' (1996), a spot painting; and 'Something Solid Beneath the Surface of All Creatures Great and Small' (2001), a large instrument cabinet,

Other exhibited artists include Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly, Roy Lichtensteain, Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cindy Sherman, Keith Haring, Barbara Kruger, Jeff Koons, Ragnar Kjartansson and Takashi Murakami.
