The two works exhibited were taken from a series called ‘Internal Affairs’ shown at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, in 1991. The first was the semi-autobiographical ‘I Want to Spend the Rest of My Life Everywhere, with Everyone, One to One, Always, Forever, Now’ (1991), and the second was Hirst’s major early vitrine piece ‘The Acquired Inability to Escape’ (1991).

A catalogue published on the occasion of the exhibition included an essay by writer Richard Shone (The British Council, 1993).
