In June 2012 over 150 children from around the UK were given the unique opportunity to make spin paintings in the style of Hirst’s own iconic series, with the help of the artist and Kids Company founder Camila Batmanghelidjh.
This film was made by Nathalie Murphy who herself received invaluable support from Kids Company in her youth. With the charity's guidance and encouragement, Nathalie completed a degree in theatre and performance studies and is now in the process of establishing herself as a talented film maker. She is currently working with Kids Company in making fundraising films with the support of producer and musician, Will Cattermole.

A longtime advocate of Kids Company’s use of art therapy, Hirst describes the spin paintings as a “massive explosion of energy, full of life, colour and optimism”. The schoolchildren in attendance were aged between 7 and 11 and were the successful entrants into a competition initiated by Tate Modern.
